Some contributions from Jess Ha


I thought I might contribute those photos of the SS I told you about, and I also found some other interesting stuff on both the Nazis and WWII. This site was linked to me by an online friend who lives in St. Petersburg, it seems like a 'Ripley's Believe it or Not' kind of blog in some areas, but it tries to expose humor and unexpected insights into the past and present of the FSU lifestyles/culture. I'm guessing whoever manages the content on the blog is Russian (well, English is evidently not their first language.), so its got a whole lot of photos on WWII, life in the USSR, etc. Admittedly, some of the comments are very insensitive and rude to deliberately provoke strong reactions, but the nationalism vs. reality sort of leaks through, if the language used doesn't deter you first, lol. Although, I must admit that even I laughed at this one: 'If they got Tom Cruise and Putin then they could do a story about the “little people” or munchkins of the SS.'
