‘What Have the Middle Ages Ever Done For Us?’


Jenny Huang (Year 11), Brenna Harding (Year 8) & I will be in Canberra on Thursday & Friday talking at a symposium on the Middle Ages.

  1. I think the middle ages were a truly enlightening time despite the label "the dark ages". We can look back in retrospect at what little that remains and realise that burning people alive because they're 'funny' is not the nicest thing to do! And that prostitutes, vermin, and parasitic insects can kill you. Oh, and it was the beginning of the scientific study of farce: Psychology!

    And that is pretty much all I learned from year 9(?) history with Ms Coplin. :D

  2. Have fun. I think there's a lot to be learned from the middle ages, and a lot of knowledge lost as well (the medicinal sort what with all the witch burnings and that). But still. Wish they had a symposium like this when I was in yr 8!
